The Planning Engineer is responsible for the following actions

1. To be able to understand the Project and the requirements in complete, arrive at the number of packages and the packaging methodology
2. Knowledge of Project at the macro level: Concept Design, Design development, Procurement, Construction, Testing and commissioning, Close out etc
3. Knowledge of WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) with detailing the activities involved in the project, fitting those in the timelines, calculating the materials, manpower and machinery required to execute these
4. Should be able to understand the Scope of works from the Drawings, BOQ and Specs and prepare the Baseline Program / Schedule of Works using Project Management tools such as Primavera or MS Project software
5. Knowledge of Civil-Services interfacing works including dependencies while preparing the schedule
6. Generate Weekly, Monthly Progress Reports.
7. Track the schedule periodically based on inputs received from project team and flag the concerned on the delays and the shortfalls in line with baseline schedule. Develop mitigated schedule so as to meet the
8. Develop integrated master schedule covering all the packages, dove-tailing with the programmes given by vendors and take sign-off.
9. Verify critical path and interfaces between design/ engineering/ procurement / execution
10. Prepare cash flow - time bound cost, technical report specific to project
